ADJUDICATION PROCESS

Jury members for each cycle will be appointed by Professor Karim H. Karim in consultation with leading scholars. The appointments will occur after the nominations for the Prize have been received and will reflect expertise in the content of the materials under consideration. Jury members will not be in a conflict of interest.

Following are the primary adjudication criteria:

  • Significance of the contribution to knowledge generally, and to understudied aspects of Ismaili Studies specifically

  • Strength of the theoretical framework

  • Innovativeness of the methodological approach

  • Quality of the research

  • Quality of the writing

Jury members will work impartially and confidentially. The winning entry will be announced at the conference. The jury’s decision will be final and no appeals will be allowed.
